In order to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, Cecil Picard Elementary 5th grade students presented A Living Wax Museum, featuring famous veterans throughout our history. Special thanks to Jet Coffee for donating coffee and supplies, Cy Dugas, our guest speaker, and Kim Williams for organizing decorations and parent donations to provide breakfast for all our veterans.

A Tribute on Veteran's Day! CPE's Student Council honored our veterans by hosting a breakfast and shared a video tribute. After a video tribute to CPE's family members and all veterans, the students enjoyed sharing historical facts by becoming participants in a Living Wax Museum. CPE would like to thank all veterans for their service to our country.



Mrs. Carolyn’s 2nd Graders have been learning about different habitats. Recently they constructed habitats to include animals and plants that live in their particular habitat. In conclusion, each student presented their habitat to the class. It was such a fun learning experience for their class.

Mrs. Kristin’s Food Scientists conducted a flavor investigation today. They are trying to determine which flavor ingredients to include in their salad dressing!




In art, 3rd graders in Mrs. Brittney’s class and Mrs. Tabatha’s class are printing leaves with crayons in celebration of the fall season. 🍁

Problem solving in action! Mrs. Jill’s kindergarteners built gates for their 5 little pumpkins, and figured out how to stop a sphere from rolling. They also noticed all of the shapes they used to build their gates.




As a reminder so that necessary arrangements can be made, Vermilion Parish School System will be closed on Monday, November 7th and Tuesday, November 8th for Fall Break and Election Day.
In addition, the Thanksgiving Break is just around the corner. Schools and central office will be closed on November 21st through November 25th.

Our Kindergartners had a great day celebrating their 50th day of school!

Mrs. Stephanie and Mrs. Pam’s classes enjoyed a fun day at the Special Olympics Track & Field event. The event was moved indoors because of the weather, but it was still a success!
